Our menus are full of wholesome foods; fruits, vegetables, protein, whole grains and organics, which supports the Ontario Government’s Action Plan for Healthy Eating and Active Living.
The focus is on simple, healthy food, that is lower in sugar and salt, and give kids the nourishment they need.
We partner with a catering partner who prepared hot lunches that are cooked fresh daily, giving children the warmth of a home cooked meal.
Lunch and snacks follow the Canada Food Guide, and include fresh fruits, vegetables, meat, fish, and legumes on a regular basis. Meals are rich in flavours, colours, textures, and as seasonal as possible.
Menus rotate every 4 weeks to allow children to try a variety of foods.
A Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, and Red Seal Chefs work together to ensure kids receive meals that meet their dietary needs.
Everything we serve is developed and approved by an Executive Chef, Registered Dietitian, Allergy Administrator and is approved by a Registered Dietitian.
Food Allergies or Dietary Restrictions can be accommodated for children with food allergies or dietary restrictions.
Th presence of nuts/ peanuts in the daycare is prohibited in order to maximize the safety of children with these allergies.
All replacement meals and snacks are prepared in a segregated area in the kitchen each day. Food is made in a nut- free, pork-free and shellfish-free facility.
All classroom educators are given instructions on each child's specific allergies.
